The Founder and Author: Will Maritz


Will is passionate about personal development. He has focused his career on developing himself and others. He is an accomplished entrepreneur who, amongst several other businesses, founded and runs Kalleo Learning, a South African based firm with large corporate clients across the globe. The company specialises in the use of technology in training and talent management and has achieved Level 1 Black Empowerment Contributor status for its investment in and commitment to broad based black economic empowerment in South Africa.


Before investing his energies in Kalleo Learning, Will enjoyed a successful corporate career in the financial services and mining industry. He started in the training division of WesBank and moved on to become a Human Resources Manager in the First National Bank group. The bright diamonds of De Beers lured him into the mining industry, where he held various management level positions in the Human Resources discipline.


In 2003, he exchanged the security of a corporate career for the excitement of entrepreneurship. By his own admission, starting and growing a new business was not as comfortable as he would have hoped. He has had to challenge himself in unanticipated ways on several occasions in order to grow Kalleo Learning into the successful enterprise that it is today. His biggest challenge and biggest personal victory has been stepping out of mediocrity into excellence in everything that he tackled. The impact of this personal journey has led to the establishment of En Route Living (Pty) Ltd. and the launch of The Excellence Challenge.


Will is a qualified Human Resource Development Practitioner and also holds post-graduate qualifications in management, leadership and business.
